Institutional Summary

澳门六合彩 of Pennsylvania, a public, four鈥恲ear institution, is one of 14 members of the Pennsylvania State System of聽Higher Education. Founded in 1839 as the 澳门六合彩 Literary Institute, the university currently enrolls approximately 7,070 undergraduate students in the Colleges of Business, Education, Liberal Arts, and Science and Technology and approximately 680 students in graduate programs, including a doctoral program in clinical audiology (AUD) and a doctor of nursing practice (DNP).聽

Approximately ninety鈥恡wo percent of the university's students are Pennsylvania residents and approximately four percent hail from聽neighboring New Jersey. Popular undergraduate majors are accounting, business administration, communication studies,聽 criminal聽justice, early childhood education, health sciences, mass communications, nursing, psychology, and special education.

In fall 2021, there were 356 full鈥恡ime faculty and 83 part鈥恡ime faculty. 澳门六合彩 96 percent of the tenured and tenured聽track faculty have earned a terminal degree. Eighty-six percent (85.9%) of faculty identify as White, Non鈥怘ispanic.聽澳门六合彩 offers a wide array of student activities and programs, modern residence halls, a well鈥恊quipped Student聽Recreation Center, and restaurant鈥恞uality dining, including Chick鈥恌il鈥怉, Qdoba, Subway, Steak 鈥榥 Shake, and Starbucks locations. The聽university has 21 intercollegiate athletic programs, more than 250 organizations to provide opportunities for leadership and聽growth, and 11 Learning Communities that foster an inclusive residential environment where students with similar majors,聽interests, and goals are afforded rich and varied student learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

The university was awarded the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement for actively supporting an atmosphere of civic engagement and encouraging student involvement in political and聽volunteer activities. Students also may take advantage of support offerings provided through Academic Advisement, Academic聽Enrichment, Act聽 101/Educational Opportunity Program, Equity and Accommodations, Professional U, TRIO Student Support Services,聽University Tutorial Services, and other programs.
